Jazib is Co-Head of Modern Energy Renewables. Prior to Modern Energy, Jazib was Citibank’s Head of Commodities Structured Finance and Credit Solutions, an internal JV between Commodities, Structured Finance and Project Finance. He deployed the bank’s capital and raised alternate capital in energy, infrastructure, renewables and commodities assets.
Jazib built and ran a similar business for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, as the Head of Energy Asset Finance Solutions, which included building a substantial new project finance business.
Prior to BAML, Jazib was responsible for structured transactions at Shell Energy North America, where he helped combine Shell’s physical capabilities to his capital raising & investment expertise.
Jazib spent 10 years at Deutsche Bank, where he was one of the founding members of the principal finance and structured credit businesses, leading innovative capital solutions across multiple sectors. He built a leading infrastructure financing business (worked on over $10bn+ of financings), as well as a secondary market trading business for public and private financial instruments.
Jazib was also a trader at hedge fund Long-Term Capital Management, where he ran an equity and equity derivatives trading book. During 1998 market meltdown, he helped on critical capital functions and subsequently executed broad asset-class liquidation.
Jazib has an MBA (Honors) from The Wharton School, and B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and B.A. in Economics (Honors) from Stanford University.
