Kirk Bedell

Kirk is Co-Head of Modern Energy Renewables. Prior to joining Modern, Kirk spent a decade building clean energy development businesses across the US — most recently he built and led the distributed generation development business at Brookfield Asset Management. Prior to that, he built and led the commercial strategy and team at General Electric’s distributed solar development business which Blackrock acquired in 2019. Kirk previously held operational, commercial and executive roles at Safari Energy which was sold to PPL and Brightergy Solar which became the largest commercial solar developer in the midwest. In his early career, Kirk held commercial roles at Yahoo! and Time Warner and spent five years teaching 20th Century American History and coaching football, wrestling and lacrosse.

Kirk is a NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installer™ and holds a BA in History from Trinity College in Hartford, CT. He lives in Greenwich, CT with his wife and two young children.
